Brent Juratowitch joined the Centre for Customs and Excise Studies in January 2013 as Director of Studies. He has had over 30 years’ experience in international trade. From 1983 until 2008 he worked with the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) including appointments as Australia’s Consul General and Consul (Commercial) in Osaka, Japan; First Secretary (Commercial) at Australia’s Embassy in Beijing, China; and numerous appointments in Australia including managing a distributed office network of business advisors across Australia.

Since 2008 he held the position of General Manager and Vice President Global Channel Partners with Recruitment Systems, a Canberra based computer software exporter, with responsibility for the company’s day to day operations and its international business, including its global network of value added resellers and sales agents.

Brent is currently a Trade and Investment Ambassador for the Australian Capital Territory and President of the ACT Exporters Network. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics (BEc) from the University of Sydney, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Charles Sturt University and a Certificate in Japanese Language Proficiency from the Nichibei Kaiwa Gakuin in Tokyo.
